Introducing E-Design

Today, I would like to introduce you to a concept that a lot of people do not know about despite it having started a while ago. E-Design, virtual design or remote design, is simple, affordable, fast and allows interior designers to work with clients anywhere in the world because the design process is handled entirely online! Using emails, phone calls and others platforms allow for perfect communication between the client and the interior designer. E-design allows you to work with your favorite designer that you’ve met on social media.

It is a very good alternative for everyone, no matter their budget and provides the same personalized expertise and creative vision that a traditional interior design service provides.

Differences Between Traditional Interior Design Services and E-Design Services.

Traditional interior design services include everything in the process from start to finish, it’s a white-glove experience.

It’s an in-person service, the designer comes into your home, takes measurements and photos, and then designs the space. During this process, there are several in-person design meetings where the designer will share progress. After the design is approved, the designer will help with ordering, installation, and styling, too. This is why the process takes more time (several months) and why the price is much higher.

E-Design services, since the process is entirely online, requires your participation, it’s more of a DIY process. Generally the interior designers offer different flat fee packages per room. This is why you save so much money with e-design. However, e-design does not mean a lower quality of work.

The most important thing is to know that you are still working with a professional interior designer and they will guide you throughout the process. You’ll obtain the same deliverables, like an inspirational mood board, a floor plan layout and design renders, just like a traditional interior design service.

Since the interior designer doesn't go to your home, you have some homework to do by taking your own measurements and photos of your space and furniture that you want to keep. Then with a shoppable list that is provided to you, you’ll order and install everything at your own pace and in your own time to create your beautiful and unique new space. This process is much faster, generally taking a few weeks.

For example, the entire process for a room on my Flat Fee Packages will take between 10 to 21 days - depending which one you'll chose.

In summary, the major differences between traditional interior design services and e-design services is:

  • The timeline of the process, shorter on e-design.

  • The cost, more affordable on e-design.

  • The installation of the products, by yourself on e-design.

How Does E-Design Work?

4 Really Easy Steps:

Step 1: Design Questionnaire

This is a very important step, because it will tell me about your personality, style, goals for the space, wish list and budget. Also is a crucial step for us to know if we agree on the same design direction.

Step 2: Homework

Take measurements and photos of your space and furniture you’d like to keep for the project and send them to me by email. It's easy - all you need is a measuring tape and your phone or a camera. I may also gather additional information if needed.

Step 3: The Design

My Favorite Step! As soon as I have all the information, I'll start working on your unique space. Once it is ready, I'll share it with you through my interactive portal where you'll be able to give me feedback, comments, and questions to improve the design until you are satisfied. Afterwards, you'll receive a complete room design plan with all the information needed to implement and execute your design.

Step 4: It’s your turn to have fun!

Finally, you'll order and install everything at your own pace, in your own time, to create your beautiful new space.

Thank you for checking this out! Stay safe!
